Partners for Peace offers Summer & Fall 2008 Internships

Flexible Hours and Academic Credit are available.
A minimum of 16 hours per week is kindly requested for the upcoming Fall 2008 Semester.

Email us at info@partnersforpeace.org to inquire further, or to request an interview.  We will request a copy of your resume, along with three references.  No cover letter necessary.

Partners for Peace advocates for human rights in Israel and Palestine.  We seek to promote a just and lasting settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by educating the general public in the United States about what is happening in the region primarily through our “Jerusalem Women Speak” tours.  Partners for Peace supports non-violent efforts by Palestinians, Israelis, and citizens of other nations to effect change.

About our Jerusalem Women Speak tours:
Partners for Peace brings three women from each one of the major religions – Islam, Christianity, & Judaism - from Israel and Palestine to the United States to speak about their experience as women peacebuilders in the region.  Partners for Peace arranges for these women to speak to audiences across the United States: in churches, synagogues, mosques, community centers, clubs, universities, and with government officials.  We believe these human-to-human exchanges are essential when seeking to humanize what is happening in the region.  Media outreach is also a major component of these tours, with the women speaking as guests on radio shows, television programs and news channels.

Internship Details:
Partners for Peace seeks motivated and dependable individuals, interested and preferably knowledgeable about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, who enjoy working as a part of a team, to work with us as we prepare for our November 2008 “Jerusalem Women Speak” tour.  Other projects we will be working on in the coming months include media outreach, fundraising activities, grant writing, web design, literature development and design, as well as liaising and networking with other organizations working on similar issues.  Interns will have the opportunity to be involved with some of these projects, as well as helping manage the day-to-day tasks that are less glamorous but essential (and very much appreciated).

This internship is an opportunity to gain valuable experience working with a small NGO that seeks to make a big impact.  Because of the small size of the organization, dedicated and responsible interns will have the opportunity to make a difference.

Partners for Peace is a tax-deductible, non-profit 501(c)(3), UN-registered non-governmental organization.  Email us at: info@partnersforpeace.org, or call us at: 202.863.2951.
